Barack Obama Biography, President of the United States. Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, grew up in Wichita, Kansas, where his father worked on oil rigs during the Depression. After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dunham's father, Stanley, is registered in the service and march across Europe in Patton's army. Mrs. Dunham, Madelyn, went to work on bomber assembly line. After the war, the couple studied at G.I. Bill, bought a house through the Federal Housing Program and, after several moves, landing in Hawaii.

Barack Hussein Obama is a Senator from Illinois. Barack Obama became the world's attention because the main speech at the Democratic National Convention 2004, when he was a Illinois State Senator. That same year, Barack Obama became the first African-American men who won election to the Senate as a Democrat.

As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, Barack Obama helped create the laws that govern conventional weapons and to promote public accountability in the use of federal funds. Barack Obama also made official trips to Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa. During the 110th Congress, Barack Obama helped create a draft law on lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel. Barack Obama announced his presidential campaign in February 2007, and was nominated at the Democratic National Convention 2008 with Delaware senator Joe Biden as a campaign partner. And On November 4, 2008 Barack Obama's success to beat his rival Senator John Mccain from the republican party and became president of the United States to 44 and the first black person as president of the United States.

As president, Barack Obama signed into law an economic stimulus in the form of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in February 2009 and Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 in December 2010. Other domestic policy initiatives including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and Do not Ask, Do not Tell Repeal Act of 2010.

In foreign policy, Barack Obama is gradually withdraw combat troops from Iraq, increasing the number of troops in Afghanistan, signed a new START agreement with the Russian control group, and ordered the enforcement of United Nations-sanctioned no-fly zone over Libya in early 2011.
