Bayern bid for Tranmere teenager

Tranmere Rovers manager Les Parry has confirmed the League One club have received a bid from Bayern Munich for 18-year-old forward Dale Jennings.

Jennings scored six goals in 32 games for Rovers last season and has been subject of interest from the German giants for several months.

"It's not just paper talk, they have put a bid in," said Parry.

"I'm not too sure how close it is but it's moving along. They're keen to get him over there and it's a great move."

Parry added: "Like with all transfer deals, they say they'll give us a penny and we say we want three and then we'll fight over the difference and that's where it's at, at the moment."

The former Liverpool trainee, who joined Rovers at the age of 15, is thought to be keen on a move to the former European champions.

"I've spoken to him and he's interested - who wouldn't be?" Parry continued.

I spoke to Aaron yesterday and we've had a bid from a Championship club which we've turned down

Tranmere manager Les Parry on Aaron Creswell

"If you look back at the number of young players who have had the chance to go abroad to one of the giants of Europe, there's very few English players who have done that.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for him."

Meanwhile, Parry also confirmed defender Aaron Creswell has turned down a new deal with the club.

"I spoke to Aaron yesterday and we've had a bid from a Championship club which we've turned down," said Parry. "It was way lower than we expect for him.

"We're expecting everyone including Dale and Cresser to turn up on Wednesday 29th [for pre-season training] because they've got a contractual obligation to us. Until they go they're still ours."
