FASHION >> Marilyn Monroe Dress Fetches $4.6 Million

While it’s true that the economy is still a bit shaky, that didn’t seem to matter at a weekend auction of Hollywood memorabilia.

The iconic dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in “The Seven Year Itch” was sold to a collector who paid a hefty sum of $4.6 million.

Monroe’s dress was originally collected by Debbie Reynolds who intended to house her array of Hollywood goodies in a museum.

Other notable items auctioned off were Audrey Hepburn’s costume from “My Fair Lady,” and a headdress worn by Elizabeth Taylor in “Cleopatra.”
