Coming under fire for going too easy on his friend, embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner, in recent days, Jon Stewart held a mock press conference to "resign."
In order to deal with the pain of quitting his post, he felt compelled to make a series of drinks (obviously) and cut his hand on broken glass in the process.

Many critics felt the Daily Show's softball handling of Weiner, a known friend of Jon's, was absurd given that ... it's Jon Stewart. And it's Weinergate!
Apparently the critiques hit home with Stewart, who acknowledged this as only he can, “resigning” from his lofty post for failing to do his job properly.
In a similar setting to where Weiner gave a press conference a day earlier, admitting he sent lewd pics and "taking responsibility," Jon followed suit.
Some words - and shards of glass - cut too deep to ignore.
