Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish have a challenge ahead of them far greater than fighting crime on the streets of New York City.
The actors have been chosen to replace a pair of TV icons, as they've been cast as new detectives on Law & Order: SVU, taking over for Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay.
After 12 seasons as Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson, respectively, the former did not sign a new contract while the latter will move to a supervisor position on the show halfway through the 2011-2012 season.
Says Executive Producer/Creator Dick Wolf: "I'm very pleased that we have two amazing actors joining the cast. I know this combination will give us the opportunity to explore the world of SVU with new eyes."
